The Cheese Queen resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Abby Lampe, a recent NC State graduate, won the women’s race in the Gloucester Cheese Roll over the weekend. The Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) grad in the 2022 class took several tough tumbles on her way down the hill on "Cooper's Hill," but emerged victorious at the bottom by a narrow margin.

Watch the full video of Lampe's heroic freefall to become a cheese race champion here:

The annual event was on pause for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making Lampe the first women's champion since 2019. The Smithfield, N.C. native was donning an NC State sweatshirt during the event and immediately threw up the wolf hands when she was handed the glorious Cheese Roll to take home with her.

So why was she at the event halfway across the world?

"The cheese race!" Lampe said with a smile. "I'm spending the summer in Spain, but I decided to do the cheese race. ... I've gotta ship [the cheese roll] to my parents!"

Despite taking what appeared to be a few hits that would leave her unconscious, Lampe declared on Twitter that she never lost consciousness. She was clearly still in great spirits after the race, but we'll see where things stand the next morning.

"I took a lot of tumbles but I'm feeling good. Did I lose any teeth?" Lampe said after the race. "I was worried I was going to lose my teeth or break an ankle, so all good. I can't believe I won!"

Lampe was one of the lucky ones, though. There were reportedly multiple serious injuries, including a suspected broken leg for one participant, according to Urban Pictures.

During the event, contestants race down the steep hill -- 200 yards from the top to the bottom -- after a wheel of Double Gloucester cheese is rolled down the hill to signify the start.

The event is so dangerous, in fact, that there is are signs hanging from the fence that read "CHEESE ROLLING IS A DANGEROUS ACTIVITY FOR PARTICIPANTS AND SPECTATORS! YOU ATTEND ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK"

So yeah, don't expect the event organizers to have liability coverage for you at the end of the estimated 600-year-old race.

That's what makes this even more badass for Lampe. She just strolled into the event less than one month after graduating from NC State and dominated the competition -- and her own physical wellbeing in the process. And when she returns to Raleigh for grad school, the Cheese Queen should be celebrated as a World Champion and possibly land an NIL deal.

Howling Cow, we're looking at you.
