John R. Wallace, age 66, formerly of Kewaunee, died at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, WI on July 24, 2022 from pulmonary fibrosis. He was born to the late John M. and Josephine G. Wallace in Waco, TX on September 26, 1955. He married Donna J. Seidl on August 28, 1976. John graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1973. He went to UW-Oshkosh for several years and then joined the army in 1978. He served for just shy of 10 years and his active duty time was split between Redstone Arsenal, AL and Camp Pieri just outside of Wiesbaden, Germany. After being honorably discharged, John and his family moved back to Kewaunee. John worked for the Hamachek Machine Co. for a short time and then owned and operated Lakeshore Software and also bought and managed the Kewaunee Star newspaper. He was active in the Rotary Club and the American Legion. John was a Packer fan. He liked music and played the drums. John also liked to fish and have fun with his family. John loved God, his family, and his country. When John was 43, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. John spent many hours studying his bible and learning all he could for himself but also to teach others. In 2009 John graduated as a Doctor of Biblical Studies in Interdisciplinary Studies. In August, 2004 John was ordained to the work of the Christian Ministry by the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches at his home church, the Congregational Church of Kewaunee. John ministered at various churches around the country from 2005 through 2021. His last ministry position was back at his home church in Kewaunee. Survivors include his wife Donna, Appleton; sons, John (Erica), Appleton and Anthony, Kewaunee; granddaughters, Mya and Greta; sisters Linda Wallace, Sun City, AZ and Carol Wallace, Algoma,WI and brothers James Wallace, Southborough, MA, Michael Wallace and special friend Laura Bradley, Los Angeles, CA; David Wallace, Green Bay, WI; mother in law, Marlene Seidl, Kewaunee; brothers and sisters in law, Donald Seidl, Diane and Tim Dolski, Denise and Steven Schleis, all of Kewaunee and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Joseph, father in law Donald A Seidl, and brother in law David Seidl. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Community Congregational Church, Kewaunee on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM. Burial at Riverview Cemetery in Kewaunee to follow.
